World ATM Congress adheres to the Privacy Shield Framework concerning the transfer of personal data from the European Union (“EU”) and Switzerland to the United States of America. Accordingly, we follow the Privacy Shield Framework published by the U.S. Department of Commerce (the “Principles”) with respect to all such data. If there is any conflict between the policies in this privacy policy and the Principles, the Principles shall govern. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has jurisdiction over WATMC’s compliance with the Principles. World ATM Congress is the world’s largest international air traffic management (ATM) exhibition and conference. Operated by CANSO in partnership with ATCA, WATMC brings together the world’s leading product developers, experts, stakeholders, and air navigation service providers (ANSPs). Aviation thought leaders gather for three days of conference sessions, product demonstrations and launches, contract closures and educational and networking opportunities in Madrid, Spain.

Occasionally we may need to contact you for the purpose of market research in order to discuss ways that we might improve the event in line with your needs. How we will store your information
Your data will be stored securely both by our registration servicer, CompleteReg and by WATMC. We will retain your data only for as long as necessary, for legal or business purposes. Data will still be stored for a maximum of 7 years. Where there has been a financial transaction, IRS Rules stipulate to ”keep records for 7 years”. Please see https://www.irs.gov for more information. If you have not been involved in a financial transaction, we may remove your records at any time as required. Alternatively, you may opt-out of marketing communications at any point.
That said, in order to ensure that you continue to stay out of our marketing promotions, we may add you to suppression files that will be stored securely by WATMC.
Disclosure of your information
We may provide your details to the following, who may use it for the same purposes as set out above:
1. Our partners and third parties who are affiliated with our events
2. Agents and third parties who fulfil services on behalf of WATMC
3. WATMC may be required to disclose your personal information in response to lawful requests from public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. Where permitted by law, WATMC has the option to issue reports relating to data privacy inquiries.
We may supply data to reputable companies outside the European Economic region however this will be done with European Data Protection Legislation in mind.
Note that by scanning your badge on a BTAG (badge scanner) or by allowing your badge to be scanned by an exhibitor or sponsor, you will be providing the exhibitor or sponsor with your personal contact data (as disclosed when registering). In doing so, you are consenting to this personal data being transferred and accept that this exhibitor or sponsor may contact you about their products or services.

WATMC shall treat Sensitive Personal Information received from an individual the same as the individual would treat and identify it as Sensitive Personal Information.

WATMC uses a self-assessment approach to assure compliance with this privacy policy and periodically verifies that the policy is accurate, comprehensive for the information intended to be covered, prominently displayed, completely implemented and accessible and in conformity with the Principles. We encourage interested persons to raise any concerns using the contact information provided and we will investigate and attempt to resolve any complaints and disputes regarding use and disclosure of Personal Information in accordance with the Principles. If a complaint or dispute cannot be resolved through our internal process, we agree to dispute resolution using United States Council for International Business (USCIB) as a third-party resolution provider.

WATMC is committed to following the Principles for all Personal Information within the scope of the Privacy Shield Framework. However, certain information is subject to policies of WATMC that may differ in some respects from the general policies set forth in this privacy policy. Under certain conditions, more fully described on the Privacy Shield website, individuals may be entitled to invoke binding arbitration when other dispute resolution procedures have been exhausted.

Prior to disclosing Personal Information to a third party, WATMC shall notify the individual of such disclosure and allow the individual the choice (opt out) of such disclosure.
