Airside Video Monitoring solution
ogipix developed a multi-level end-to-end video monitoring solution that makes ground control operation easier and more efficient. Thanks to high-resolution panoramic images, automatic VCA-based features and several intelligent functions it also helps creating automatic airside statistics and accelerates workflow in the control room. The system visually covers the entire airside area by using 200-320 MP Logipix Panorama cameras and high-end PTZ cameras. Controllers can check and track the movement of both personnel and vehicles at the airside, and coordinate their work, making it possible to stick to time schedules. All moving objects can be clearly identified and tracked using advanced VCA. Logipix Airside Video Monitoring solution aims to guide the attention of controllers to urgent situations, therefore the system helps prevent collisions and other incidents.
Collision Estimation
At the airside even tiny collisions can lead to serious accidents, therefore it is crucial to avoid them. The Logipix VCA helps prevent accidents by applying Motion Behavior Analysis, Motion Path Estimation and by automatically generating Multi-level Proximity Areas around objects. The size of these areas dynamically vary based on object type, speed and airside zone. The system also calculates the motion vectors of moving objects. In case the motion vector of an object is pointing to another one and the alarm areas of objects are overlapping, the system generates a warning or an alarm depending on the distance of the two objects.
Zone-specific Airside Rules
Logipix features advanced VCA-based monitoring technologies that are able to significantly increase ground control efficiency and also helps to decrease the number of accidents at the airside. One of these technologies is the Logipix Geo-fencing tool that virtually realizes various airside rules that concern to different moving objects within different zones. The function allows to cover each airside zone on the panoramic image by virtual layers and assign Zone-specific Airside Rules that concern to different objects based on their own type. For instance these rules specify the speed limit for each vehicle within the zones and also define which types of vehicle can enter into which zone.
GPS-based object labeling
Based on a predefined coordinate grid, the VCA module is able to continuously define the exact GPS-position of objects. Besides, the Logipix system receives information on object positions from external airport systems. Together with the GPS-coordinates, the server also receives various aircraft and GSE identification information as well. Matching the GPS-positions from internal and external sources, and utilizing the ID information, the system automatically identifies the detected objects in the images. Informational labels are displayed on the monitoring interface. These labels move along with both cooperative and non-cooperative objects, continuously providing relevant vehicle information.
Overspeed detection at the airside
Airports need to keep strict time schedules which generates constant stress. To avoid costly delays GSE operators may behave inappropriately at the airside and drive their vehicles with a speed that exceeds airside rules, creating dangerous situations. To decrease the number of incidents caused by speeding, Logipix engineers developed a VCA based overspeed detection function for both cooperative and non-cooperative vehicles at the airside. Different speed limits can be specified for different type of vehicles in different airside zones. Image-based speed detection is accurate on the range of typical speeds that occur at the airside. In case of a vehicle is speeding in any zone, the system generates an alarm immediately and signs it on the monitoring interface.
