  • Title: SPINNER Rotary Joints for Air Traffic Surveillance Radar Systems
Description: SPINNER has launched a new generation of future-proof RF rotary joints that deliver a number of major benefits. They work contactlessly, which eliminates friction and makes them virtually maintenance-free. Made from high-quality, precision-made mechanical components, the new joints feature real-time gigabit-volume Ethernet with high-quality signal transmission.

Products to be displayed

3 Channel L-Band Rotary Joint
New extra slim 3 channel L-band rotary joint, light weight and compact, contactless design. Includes double 14 bit encoder for easy access at the bottom side of the rotary joint. Customers can select the encoder of their choice.
3 Channel S-Band Rotary Joint
3 channel S-band rotary joint with double 14 bit encoders. Easy access to encoders, without gearboxes for longer live time of the system. The customer can select any encoder of his choice.
7 Channel S-Band Rotary Joint
7 channel contactless rotary joint for S band SRE radar. Contains one high power channel and has a superior performance with high interchannel isolation of min 65 dB.
Military S and L Band
ASR-S – Airport Surveillance Radar with 6 channel rotary joint - channel 1-3: 2.7-2.9 GHz, channel 4-6: 1.0-1.1 GHz - and 35 way slip ring. For military ATC radar sites in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. This system includes a fully temperature compensated Inductosyn encoder system.
Contactless Data Transmission in Real Time
The contactless coupler (module) for data transmission is available with different inner diameters. The Ethernet module also supports Gigabit Ethernet regardless of its dimensions. The correct standard is automatically detected and transmitted: 10BASE-T (10 Mbit/s), Fast Ethernet (100 Mbit/s), Gigabit Ethernet (1 Gbit/s) or fixed at 100 MBit/s in case of real time data transfer. Without requiring any adjustments, the Ethernet data transmitter is fully compatible with Profinet (class A and B). The real time version, Profinet class C (IRT), also supports other real time protocols. The mechanical system is designed to allow the incorporation of one or two transmission modules, also in combination with a DC/DC converter. The converter is designed so that more than 50 watts and an output voltage of 24 V are still available for the user in addition to the rotor's own power supply.
Multi Channel Fiber Optic Rotary Joint
SPINNER multi-channel rotary joints use a dove prism to derotate images arriving via the input fiber for coupling with the output fiber. For up to 64 channels, SPINNER relies on discretely mounted collimators for the individual light propagation paths instead of an optical lens array. This technology makes it possible to individually adjust and optimize the insertion loss values of each optical fiber channel. The result is superior tracking performance of optical channels during rotation.
6 Channel S- and L-Band Rotary Joint
New 6 channel S and L band ATC rotary joint incl. up 24 way power slip ring and double 14 bit encoders. Available in different slipring configurations. Easy maintenance through plug and play interface of the encoder. Customers can choose any encoder as well as slipring configuration up to 24 rings.
