DFS Aviation Services GmbH (DAS) is a subsidiary of DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH and employs more than 400 people around the world. As a certified ATM provider, DAS controls air traffic at German small and medium-sized airports and sells products and services related to Air Traffic Control around the world. Its customers include ATM organisations, airports, airlines and aviation authorities all over the world. Through its subsidiary, Air Navigation Solutions Ltd. (ANSL), DAS is also responsible for air traffic at Edinburgh and London-Gatwick. The subsidiary DFS Aviation Services Bahrain Co WLL provides support in the Middle East in the areas of air traffic control and air traffic control technology. In Asia, DFS Aviation Services has a representative office in Beijing and a branch office in Singapore. PHOENIX WebInnovation@Cloud is an integrated, web and cloud-based air traffic control system that is available as a modern "Software as a Service" model (SaaS). The tool is based on the internationally established DFS PHOENIX tracker technology and impresses thanks to its contemporary design. At its core it offers a modern, convenient radar screen that can be used as an airborne situational awareness display. PHOENIX WebInnovation runs in a web browser – independently of hardware and operating systems – and allows flexible use on various devices such as PCs, laptops and tablets.
AMAN Arrival Manager
The Arrival Manager (AMAN) is a real-time arrival management system that has been operationally proven in the field for more than 20 years. The modular system can automatically change operating scenarios and makes up-to-date planning suggestions to the controller. It continuously calculates handover and landing times as well as an optimal approach sequence on the basis of various parameters, such as speed, current and predicted flight path, real-time weather conditions, aircraft performance, traffic density and controller activities. AMAN is able to register all arriving aircraft within a range of 200NM or more around the airport. The AMAN system can meet the needs of even highly complex airspace structures. It is fully compliant with internationally accepted air traffic management standards, such as those from ICAO and EUROCONTROL, and it fulfils the ASBU requirements.
DAS Aviation Academy
The A² academy of DFS Aviation Services combines aviation and learning in a practical manner. Through our own work as a certified Air Navigation Service Provider and our training team with many years of international operational and training experience, we understand the challenges faced by the ATM community. In our training courses, we build the perfect bridge for you between theory and practice. The training portfolio of the DAS A² includes operational training, ongoing vocational training and refresher courses for endorsements and/or the maintenance of competence, as well as qualifications for management level. We also offer training courses and refresher courses for other air traffic services personnel, such as Aerodrome Flight Information Services and Flight Directors. Our courses meet the regulatory requirements of the EU (conform to EU Regulation 2015/340) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
